Driving to NIH:Please click on the links below for driving directions and a map of the NIH campus. Driving DirectionsNIH Campus MapIf you plan to drive onto campus, your vehicle will also have to go through inspection at the Gateway Center. Please remember to allocate extra time for the inspection.
Parking:Visitor parking is limited at NIH. The Gateway Center complex includes MLP-11, a multi-level underground parking garage. This visitor-only lot is the primary visitor parking for the NIH main campus. The cost to park in MLP-11 is $2 per hour for the first three hours, $12 maximum for the entire day. Public Transportation:Because parking is limited, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation such as the Metrorail subway system, which has a convenient stop (Medical Center) on the NIH campus. The station's escalators come out on the NIH campus adjacent to the NIH Gateway Center. Metro service is available from Washington National Airport and from Union Station (railway). Visit the Metro site at www.wmata.com for information on fares and schedules.
Directions to Masur Auditorium (Building 10):From the North lobby entrance:Walk through the Atrium, passing Admissions on your right or the Pharmacy on your left, as well as several sets of elevators. Continue straight through the sliding glass doors, past the Radiology and Phlebotomy/EKG areas to the 1C corridor. Pass the North corridor and main elevators, and you are standing in front of Masur Auditorium.From the South lobby entrance:Walk down either the hallway to your left or the hallway to your right. When the two hallways converge, you are standing in front of Masur Auditorium.Driving to NIH:When driving to NIH, plan some extra time to get through the security checkpoints at the visitor entrances to campus. Be aware that visitor parking lots on the NIH campus can fill up quickly. Consider taking public transportation as an alternative.
